YOU ARE ENOUGH.

YOU ARE ENOUGH: A Blog post on the unachievable standards and photoshop in our digital age

We live in a world of glossy magazines, supermodels and unachievable standards.

The divide between reality and pretend has never been so prevalent.

It can feel so difficult to be your normal, every day self in a world where ideals are consistently rammed down your throat.

And of course, it's a long and slippery slope when you start on the path of self comparison - of which we're all guilty of.
But don't forget, no matter how far you fall, there is still reality out there, and it's you. Beautiful, wonderful you.

This site has, and always will be, a place of authenticity. And so when my lady Alex Cameron asked if I'd be up for taking some photos that were completely stripped back, I jumped at the chance. We were simply hanging out, having some dinner and enjoying the early evening sunshine when Al suggested it. I hadn't shaved my legs or worn good undies and my makeup had been on since 9am. But that's the whole point.

These images are here to say you needn't photoshop your body or your life.

We should all feel comfortable enough to share the real us.

We're all beautiful.

YOU ARE ENOUGH: A Blog post on the unachievable standards and photoshop in our digital age

There is no 'real' body - we come in different shapes and sizes and that's what's normal. We shouldn't have to censor ourselves to fit an ideal.

One day that will be true. Across the board, anybody will be the norm - it has to be.

For our younger generation.

We need them to know that anything is possible, that there is no limit, no barrier stopping them achieving their dreams. I don't want another generation to go through pain and suffering of self depreciation and hatred. I want them to feel continually empowered and strong and beautiful.

And hitting publish on this is going to be bloody tough for me. It would be so easy to smooth out my tummy, or plump up my breasts. Of course, there are so many things about myself I wish I could change aesthetically; and so, sharing an image in which I actively bare those hangups, without masking them...is well, a lot.

But to anyone that feels like you're not enough, or that you'll never 'get there' - know that you already are. Know that the size of your breasts or stomach don't define how incredible you are. Know that your lifestyle, whatever that may be, doesn't take away from what you have to offer to the world.

You are enough.

It's not a competition, it's a doorway. - Mary Oliver

I can't see the images for some reason, but the message alone is definitely worth reading. I know I feel like shit all of the time because I don't look a certain way but eventually you either just have to get over it an accept yourself or work your ass of to get the body you want. I am not a fan of airbrushed, photoshopped images because it perpetuates an ideal we can't achieve though and I like that you include that in your post. Some things are simply nonsense but because we see it so often we think it really does exist and that sucks x

This made me well up Megs, a message so so so many of us really need to hear and be reminded of right now. Deep down we know the truth, but I think we need these constant reminders that we are enough to keep us from falling. Thank you for lifting me back up again, as soon as I finished reading I messaged my best friend with the link to your post. I'm sure I'm not the only one who did. You have a way of wording powerful messages so that they don't overwhelm.

Beautiful message here, and I think you look absolutely perfect here anyway, other people never see your flaws the same way (or ever as bad) as you do, and yes you are enough :)
